The Leichhardt Academy of Style and Health was official created on spring evening in 2001. The academy finds its antecedent in the famed establishment of the ABBEY OF THELEME and this establishments dedication to refinement, leisure and luxury in the form of proper conduct, behavior and etiquette. The Academy had been active before this time but had gone unnamed. During the planning for THE LIBERAL LEICHHARDT OLYMPICS a need for a more formal identification of the ideological impetus driving the production of the event was deemed necessary and important. The Academy is focused on providing opportunities for the display of style and physical and mental health hence the motto . The meetings are held with a quorum of two on Friday evenings. This PSYCOGEOGRAPHICAL  perambulation usually happens between Haberfield canal and  BALMIANS HORES The meetings are loosely convened weekly and seasonal uniform (usually involving an apron) is desirable but not mandatory. Full membership is automatic on attending a Friday evening dérive and associated membership is automatic for anyone participating or attending a L.A.S.H. production. Those associate members who provide  invaluable practical assistance, guidance and unfailing and 'pataphysical participation above and beyond, hold the title of Honorary Member.
